Dealer Comments
Debuting in 1935, Packard's 120 series cars were their attempt at a lower cost car, designed to float the luxury car manufacturer during the Great Depression. Designated as "120" because of its 120 inch wheelbase, the car was an immediate sales success, selling 25,000 units in its first year-- nearly three times as many cars as Packard had produced up to that point. Available in coupe, sedan and convertible body styles, the 120 was the first Packard to feature an independent front suspension known as a "Safe-T-Flex" which drastically improved both ride comfort and handling. The 1938 Packard Convertible Coupe represents a fantastic example of the second generation of the "120" series. Built in the new design's inaugural year, this pale yellow example has been specified with a green interior and recently was meticulously restored and shows a mere 25 miles on the odometer since its overhaul. This 1938 Packard presents stunningly well and would be a fantastic addition to any garage- with its rebuilt straight-8 engine, it has the power to keep up with modern traffic and the looks to stand out at any car show.
