Dealer Comments
Starmist Blue 1957 Ford Thunderbird. Finished in factory correct Starmist Blue with a Colonial White removable hardtop, this 1957 Thunderbird is a very well-preserved, award-winning example of the final year for the classic two-seat T-Bird. It has been very well-kept & cared for and has been owned by the same family since the early 1980's.
1957 was a significant year in Thunderbird history. The car was given a minor facelift with a refreshed front grille, bumpers, and rear fins, and it was the first year for the highly desirable factory "port-hole" hardtop windows. It would also prove to be the final year before the larger third-generation Thunderbirds were introduced in 1958.
This example is the product of a professional restoration that was completed by T-Birds NW in 1981 and has been lovingly and expertly cared for ever since. It is presented in correct Starmist Blue & Colonial White over a two-color white and blue interior. The restoration was undertaken with an eye to keeping this T-Bird as close to the way it rolled off assembly line in 1957. The body boasts correct panels gaps and fit, all of the brightwork has been refinished or replated, and the car even rides on wide white wall tires with correct factory wire wheel covers. Inside, this T-Bird retains its Dial-O-Matic power front seat, power windows, Town & Country AM radio and engine-turned dash trim.
The correct D-Code 4BBL 312ci V8 engine and Ford-O-Matic automatic transmission were rebuilt in the mid-90s and returned to factory spec.
We have an organized binder on file with this Thunderbird that contains extensive T-Bird information and restoration receipts. CLICK HERE view undercarriage picture at Park Place LTD's Flickr page.
Presented in its correct factory colors and drivetrain, this Thunderbird is a high-quality example that will be a great addition to any garage or collection.
