Debuting in the Jet-Age, where tail-fins and chrome accents were the ultimate show of status, the 1957 Pontiac Bonneville was designed to take the fight to Cadillac and show the world that they were capable of building a car that competed with the world's best. With only 630 cars produced- one car for each Pontiac dealership in the country- the exclusivity played up the allure for the first ever Bonneville. Powered by a 347ci V8 with a unique Rochester mechanical fuel injection system affixed and standard Positraction rear end, the Bonneville was not only well equipped but a capable performer as well. 0 to 60 in 8.1 seconds and a top speed of over 100MPH were not a given at this time, yet the Bonneville provided both with the passengers surrounded by luxurious accommodations.

Priced at $5,782 when new, the Bonneville was more than twice as expensive as Pontiac's previous Star Chief Convertible and was better equipped than pretty much anything else on the road. As standard, all of the 1957 Bonnevilles came loaded with power steering, power brakes, power top and a power antenna. All of the 1957 Bonnevilles- except for one- were painted "Kenya Ivory" white- which was offset by the striking red and white interior which consisted of two leather bench seats with 8-way power adjustment up front.

This example is one of the finest around with a complete frame off rotisserie restoration completed in 2004. Originally a Southern California car, the rust free body was refinished in its original shade of Kenyan White with red accents and all of the chrome was fully refinished. In 2004, this car had its first post-restoration showing at the Glenmoor Gathering in Canton, Ohio where it took home a Gold award. All of the factory features including the Wonder Bar radio are present and working and a binder of the restoration accompanies the car. The Bonneville also still retains its original owners manual, receipts and the original license plate frame that will be included. This Pontiac Bonneville was the pinnacle of luxury in 1957 and this example is the best in the world and ready to be driven or shown immediately.
