Dealer Comments

Fabulous 1964 Corvette Convertible. Daytona Blue, Blue vinyl interior, 327 / 365hp V8, 4-speed, Positraction rear axle, stock wheel covers w/ spinners, rare heater-delete, AM/FM radio, back-up lamps, and a gorgeous beige cloth soft top. Sold new to John R. Fahey of Olivette, MO, in July 1964, and kept in Mr. Fahey's stewardship through 2006. Only two registered owners from new. Bloomington Gold Survivor award winner in 1996, and restored sometime in mid-late 2000s by renowned Chev Connection in Portland, OR. Original sales invoice and Bloomington Gold certificate copies on file. A very appealing Corvette in every respect.
If a mid-year Corvette is on your short list, then this '64 should make your list even shorter. It shows in fine restored condition and will make a perfect weekend driver / show car for it's proud new owner. The 327 / 365hp V8 under the hood is strong and responsive, and its 4-spd shifts smoothly and without drama. Paint finish and body gaps are spot on, and the tidy blue interior shows striking blue upholstery and carpeting, crisp original instruments (exclusive to 1963 & '64), and an expertly fitted beige cloth soft top. Radial tires have been installed to make it an enjoyable and comfortable driver.
The example proudly presented here also comes with documented history, with only two registered owners from new. On file is a copy of the original sales order, purchased by Mr. John Fahey of Olivette, MO from Barford Chevrolet of Clayton, MO, a dealer that in its day was a well-known and respected seller of Corvettes -- interestingly, Barford was a distributor of Yenko high-performance Chevrolets, as well. Also included is a letter from the Chevrolet Motor Division, dated July 31, 1964, thanking Mr. Fahey for his purchase of his new Corvette. Of special note is the fact that it won a Bloomington Gold "Survivor" award on June 28, 1996, proving that this Corvette has been well cared-for from the beginning, and supporting documentation shows ownership by Mr. Fahey through at least 2006. It was restored by the Chev Connection of Portland, OR, sometime in the mid to late 2000s, and then purchased by it's grateful 2nd owner at Barrett-Jackson's Scottsdale auction in January 2011.
