1962 'Styled' Chevrolet Corvette CRC Conversion masterfully crafted on a 2003 Z06 chassis. Designed and built here in the Seattle area, CRC Corvettes are among the finest conversions on the market today, bar none. Each CRC begins life as a C5 or C6 Corvette that is refitted with a bespoke CRC body and interior. All CRC bodies are made of a state-of-the-art Gurit Carbon Fiber Composite that is finished to customer specification. Likewise, the interior is reupholstered and outfitted to customer specification before final reassembly. This example was built in October 2009 and is an incredibly rare hardtop CRC conversion -- one of only a handful ever built. On top of the rarity, this CRC is also built on a C5 Z06 coupe chassis, and packs a supercharged LS6 V8 and a six-speed manual transmission! According to CRC documentation, the conversion cost the previous owner over $97,000, and that's not even counting the original donor Z06!
This CRC is arguably the most attractive and most well-outfitted example we've ever seen. The rare carbon fiber hardtop body is finished in sporty Red and features a number of desirable touches like HID head lamps, sequential tail lamps, a black hood scoop and black coves to contrast against the bright red finish. The original C5 wheels were also replaced, in this case by a set of chrome twin-spoke iForged wheels for a killer custom profile. Inside the cabin, this CRC boasts a gorgeous two-tone black / tan Caravaggio leather interior with an upgraded audio system that includes a touchscreen Pioneer audio receiver, GPS navigation, Bluetooth® telephone connectivity, Bose speakers and USB / iPod integration. The factory head-up-display was carried over during the build and is functional.
Powering this CRC is supercharged 5.7L LS6 V8 engine that develops 550hp! The engine has been performance upgraded with a polished Magneson Magnacharger twin-scroll supercharger, polished valve covers and a killer-sounding custom Corsa exhaust with SLP long-tube headers, SLP high-flow cats and SLP mid-pipe. Backing up the engine is a proper 6-speed manual transmission that drives the rear wheels. To improve safety and handle the extra power properly, the factory brakes were upgraded with Eradispeed performance brake rotors with powder coated red calipers.
Included with the car is the original CRC invoice, Max Microtuner module, owner's manual, one set of keys and a CarFax history report.
