2005 Lotus Elise in Starlight Black with Biscuit Leather Interior. Only 7,556 Miles. Motivation for the Elise is provided by a high-strung 1.8L/190hp 4-Cylinder engine that's backed by a proper 6-speed manual transmission. This particular Elise is a sensational example, with optional Touring Package, Hardtop, and Lotus OEM Fog Light Kit. Further upgrades include Carbon Fiber components for the Front Splitter, Radiator Vents, Engine Cover Vents, and Side Air Intakes. As well, Leather Upholstery and Power Front Windows were electively ordered by the original owner. Aftermarket exposed shift linkage (OEM Center console available). A Lotus Stage 2 Exhaust adds that 'little bit extra' in both performance and sound. As standard, the Elise boasts one of the finest and more rewarding sports car chassis on the road today, with Bilstein dampers, Eibach springs and performance Lotus/AP Racing brakes with Brembo calipers. The car rolls on lightweight 16" Front / 17" rear alloy wheels that are wrapped in high-performance tires. 4-Wheel Independent Suspension. With under 8,000 miles from new, this Elise is in fantastic condition throughout.
From the moment you swing open the composite door and drop into the leather-trimmed aluminum cockpit, there's no mistaking the Elise for anything but a no-nonsense lightweight sports car. Other than 21st-century necessities like dual airbags, air conditioning, and a CD player, there's nothing extraneous inside the cabin. The dashboard, pedals and shift knob are all crafted out of aluminum. The steering wheel is small and purposeful, the seats are lightly upholstered one-piece composite shells with fore-aft adjustment for the driver only. Carpeting covers select areas of the interior; everywhere else the exposed aluminum chassis proudly shows through.
Extensive use of aluminum allows the Elise to achieve its extreme lightweight without sacrificing rigidity. This is most apparent in the cockpit where the extruded aluminum chassis makes no secret of its presence, joined by racy billet pedals and a drilled-out foot stop on the passenger side. Tipping the scales at a gravity-defying 1,950 lb., the diminutive Elise remains faithful to the Hethel company's less-is-more school of vehicle production. Like the famous Seven and Elan, lightweight roadsters that helped put Lotus road cars on the map, the Elise is built around the same concept of joining an exceptionally light, nimble chassis to a flexible and responsive 4-cylinder engine. With so little mass to haul around, the Elise doesn't need a ton of horsepower to go fast, huge brakes to slow down or massive wheels and tires to handle well.
With the 111-series Elise models having been phased out in 2011 and the current range unavailable in the USA, well-kept examples like this are in high demand and don't remain available long.
