The AMG suspension is a specially tuned version of Mercedes' Airmatic setup, which works in conjunction with the Adaptive Damping System. To ensure you can stop with the same aplomb as you'll want to accelerate again and again, AMG has fitted huge disc brakes (the fronts are composite) that are internally ventilated and well-perforated (cross-drilled).
