Bentley Motors' limited-edition Continental GTC Speed 80-11 models, designed exclusively for the North American market, are a unique interpretation of Bentley craftsmanship and refinement. Combining the legendary performance, luxury, and craftsmanship for which the 91-year old Bentley marque is renowned, as well as the added exclusivity of being commissioned for a single market, yet give a nod to Bentley's British heritage and incomparable craftsmanship, with Union Jack brightware badges featured on the front fenders. The 80-11 designation underlines just how limited these luxury British convertibles are, with Bentley building only 80 examples in 2011.

First presented to the public on the Concept Lawn at the 60th Annual Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, the new styling is sharper, cleaner, and bolder and it has a look of greater power too. There's also a sexier look to the car as well that wasn't so apparent before, with unique and distinctive exterior styling.

Some 80% of the interior space, excluding the windows, of course, is given over to leather. With finely hand-stitched soft leather covering seats and panels. There are also plenty of highly polished, shiny and glossy wood veneer surrounding occupants. The controls almost seem like an afterthought in this unbelievably luxurious cabin. The ride is smooth and quiet. The car handles like a smaller and lighter agile sports car, but that is down to it massive engine power and its excellent air powered suspension.

With a top speed of 200mph (195mph with top down) the Speed was the world's fastest four-seat production convertible with a 0-60mph time of only 4.5 seconds. For model-year 2011, the GTC Speed, along with all Bentley Continentals, features FlexFuel technology, which enables the vehicle to run on gasoline, E85 biofuel or any mix of the two without any compromise in performance. As part of its environmental strategy, Bentley has pledged to reduce CO2 by 15% by offering FlexFuel powertrains across its entire vehicle lineup by the end of 2012, and it has pledged to introduce a new powertrain that reduces fuel consumption and CO2 emissions by 40%.
